As we create digital spaces for students to learn, remember that there are design elements that can help the user experience. Limit the use of fonts and colors to a few. Stay consistent with where items are placed. Use consistent language to avoid confusion around directions. Remember students get a lot of clarity in the classroom from non-verbals that aren’t available in digital spaces. Continue to ask for feedback from students around their experience. Login as a student to grow empathy around their experience. Minimize text on the landing page. All of these can help students in digital spaces.
